The Hospice League, our all-volunteer fundraising wing, has been working since 1989 to raise the funds to build and operate the Hospice Home. Led by the 2004 National Hospice Volunteer of the Year, Faye Boswell, the League has over 500 members and holds major events throughout the year. Whatever your skill or interest may be – from helping at one of our thrift stores to greeting golfers at the annual Golf Classic to being one of “the Pick-up Boys” who drive our truck to pick-up donated items, there’s an opportunity for everyone to help out, have fun, and raise money for a great cause.
Our Major Fundraisers:
The Hospice Flea Market Store
The Hospice Flea Market Store is officially open in the former Winn Dixie Superstore on North Church Street beyond Cum-Park Plaza in Burlington. The 50,000 square foot facility is even better than shopping at the original flea market because you can enjoy great prices and a wide selection of merchandise year-round – and it’s even heated and cooled! Everything is sparkling clean and ready for purchasing. From furniture to appliances, toys to linens, dishes to TVs and so much more, there’s a bargain in every corner. The Flea Market Store is open Tuesday through Saturday from 10 a.m. until 4:50 p.m., and closed on Sunday and Monday. The address is 1003 West Main Street, Haw River, NC 27258. Volunteer needs: There are as many volunteer opportunities as there are bargains! We need drivers for our trucks to pick up donations, sorters, fix-it folks, cashiers, sales folks and lots more. To contact the store call 336-229-0490.
