Legacy gifts come in many forms– from leaving all or a portion of your estate to Hospice or giving a gift of appreciated real property. Including Hospice in your estate plans makes a statement about what matters in your life and helps ensure that your wishes are carried out.
We would be pleased to work with you and your legal or financial advisor to ensure that your philanthropic wishes are met.
Here’s a list of some of the most popular ways you can build a lasting legacy with your planned gift:
LEAVE A GIFT TO HOSPICE IN YOUR WILL OR TRUST (A BEQUEST GIFT)
When you name Hospice in your will or other estate planning document—a bequest– you have the potential tax benefit and the opportunity to make a sizeable gift to carry on the work of Hospice. A bequest is one of the easiest ways to make a planned charitable gift. Because a will is an important legal document, we strongly recommend that you consult with an attorney to ensure that your wishes are properly documented.
There are several different kinds of bequests depending on your wishes and estate planning goals. Need this information today? Please call (336) 532-7120 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
If you want to name us in your will, trust or other estate plan, we should be named as:
Hospice of Alamance-Caswell Foundation, located at 914 Chapel Hill Road, Burlington NC 27215.
Our federal tax identification number is: 56-1344754
GIVE A GIFT OF REAL PROPERTY
A gift of appreciated real estate—perhaps it’s a house, farm, land or commercial property— allows you to preserve your cash assets and receive a significant tax benefit. Real property can even be donated through your will or trust. Please call (336) 532-0120 for more information on how to complete a gift of this kind.
NAME HOSPICE AS A BENEFICIARY OF YOUR RETIREMENT ACCOUNT or LIFE INSURANCE POLICY
You may also want to consider naming Hospice as a beneficiary of your retirement plan or a life insurance policy. It is a simple and easy way to leave a legacy gift. It could also make a substantial difference in the taxing of your estate and the amount transferred to your heirs. With a new life insurance policy, the premiums you pay may even be a tax-deductible gift! For a retirement account, such as a 401(k), 403(b) or an Individual Retirement Account (IRA), simply call your plan administrator or human resources department at work and request a Change of Beneficiary form. The same process applies to change a beneficiary for your life insurance policy. In the beneficiary section, list “Hospice of Alamance-Caswell Foundation” as a beneficiary for all or a portion(percentage) of your account—it’s up to you. Then return the form to your plan administrator. Then, please let us know so we are aware of your generous gift.
OTHER LEGACY GIFTS
Please call (336)532-0120 if you are interested in other kinds of legacy gifts, such as a charitable gift annuity or an endowed fund. We are happy to work with you, your financial and legal advisor to achieve your philanthropic goals.
