Our nationally recognized volunteer training program will give you the information and tools to provide that special kind of caring. The training is free and there’s no obligation. Our next training classes will be Saturday, October 16 from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. and Saturday, October 23 from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. You MUST attend both classes. For information call 336-532-0126. We couldn’t do it without you! Since 1982, our volunteers have helped make our organization what it is today. Our volunteer opportunities include: Patient support and respite: One of the most profound experiences in life is at its end. By volunteering to help our patients, you will have an opportunity to truly make a difference. By sitting with a patient, providing respite to a caregiver, offering emotional support, running errands or simply being present, you’ll help bring comfort and relief. Hospice Home volunteers: Assisting with food preparation for breakfast Monday through Friday and cooking breakfast for the patients on the weekends. Other needs at the Home are answering the phone, visiting patients and assisting with the laundry. Administrative: We have many needs around the office from data entry and filing to answering the phones. Call 336-532-0100 for more information. FunRaising! The Hospice League, organized in 1989, is the all-volunteer fundraising arm of Hospice & Palliative Care Center of Alamance-Caswell. With more than 500 volunteers, the League has raised the funds to build and operate the Hospice Home in Burlington. That takes a lot of money – and a whole lotta FUN! Call 336-532-0196 to learn more or to help out!
